New Hood Scoop - Eliminate Blinding Reflections

The glare can be pretty annoying. I removed my scoop, had it painted satin-black, fixed the scoop-to-hood seal, touched up the paint chips and put all back together. Bit of a pain, but no more glare, no more chips.
to bad Chevy / GM won;t pick up the bill to have that done . Honestly not sure what they were thinking going gloss on the scoop

hey if ya could post a couple pics with the satin black scoop , mines the cherry red tintcoat interested on the look . as sounds like a good idea. a body shop wanted $600+ just to paint the backside

I've had on mine for a while now... it does help reduce blinding reflection.... but I agree, I am going to probably rework my cut file. I need to take better measurements of the 'lower' center piece and make it go all the way across so as to eliminate all glare. Will probably be a week or two before I get the time to do. Will post when I get another version done. Will try and come up with a way to help with aligning better during the installation since it will be longer and thinner - I just eyed the individuals alignment last time. Thanks for feedback.
How ya makin out on the rework ?

How is the scoop attached to the hood?

Hey , just checkin to see how ya made out with re-cutting for the entire back piece

I’ve got a 22 trail boss custom. 14000 miles and had 17000$ of hail damage. Gonna see what my body shop can do to stop the glare

When my 22 TB goes into the shop to repair the paint damage from the hood scoop I requested they give me a price of painting the hood scoop matte black. Something Chevy should have done in the first place. Wonder why this glare problem wasn’t picked up on before vehicle production ?

I wonder if a guy could knock down the shine in that area with 0000 steel wool.

you should try it and report back...i will stick with wrapping or painting mine.
i even had a guy going to quote PPF and doing the scoop itself in a matte PPF.

show some pics of the satin finish , may consider this option

This is why I decided to do myself... $35 for two stickers(?)... And why I offered to do here for some that wanted for only $9.95 USPS shipping and $1.55 for the vinyl cost... I am not trying to make money.. was just helping other TB owners.
Have ya managed to make a solid piece that covers the entire back of the scoop yet to include the lower part ? thanks

So... I have a 2022 with the hood scoop. Yes, I have the chipping around the corners like everyone else... but... my biggest issue is when the sun is behind me, I get an awful blinding reflection. So my solution was to cut my own matte black vinyl to cover the shiny black. I am pleased with my first attempt, but might alter my cut file depending on how this one works.

EDIt: I saw some on eBay for $35 so decided to do myself for less than $1. (I have a vinyl cutter at my shop)

What did you use to install the vinyl?
Looks good!
I have the same blinding problem with the reflecting sunlight!

i have a 5' x 10' roll of matte black, intent is to wrap the entire scoop...just need some time off.

If anyone wants a set, i could do for cost (of the vinyl) plus shipping. Vinyl cost is about $1.75 and postage would be whatever USPS charges... I am not sure how long my vinyl will last in the elements, but for the cost, it will be easy to replace.
I will definitely take two sets in flat black and give it a try! My zip is 75189 for postage. Can we email address direct, I just joined the forum. Thanks
