Dropped it off at the dealer for the engine replacement.![]()
Awesome, Thank you!I bought it at americantrucks.com
Not great. When I got the letter saying I was cleared for the recall inspection, the dealer told me they had only done 16 inspections and one failure / replacement. I was the second. They told me they'd have my truck 3 days tops. When I dropped off this morning, I was told a week and a half...because in the interim they've had 3 or 4 come in with engine failures on the road.
I do purchase from Ebay as well. I do like a lot of items from American Trucks too.Why buy anything from AmericanTrucks? They overprice everything by at LEAST 50% of what you can get the same thing on ebay for.
Hope they give you a good extended warranty on that new engine…Not great. We talked for a while and I asked the service manager if my new replacement engine was likely to "fail on the road". The answer was "well, we'll see". Nice job GM.
Also: asked what this would cost if it was coming out of pocket? $15-$17k was the answer.
I really appreciate the honesty and transparency of the dealer. They've been nothing less than great (and I didn't buy it from them). But man, what a schitshow it is by GM.
That sucks but hey if its free call it a win.Dropped it off at the dealer for the engine replacement.
I am considering changing out the rear Fox Adventure 2.0 rears to something else. They don't seem to handle well on washboard roads. Do you have any experience driving on washboard roads after installing the Bilstein struts and shocks?Sprung for the Bilstein 6112 front and the 5100 rear plus UCA! Ride quality is more consistent and feels planted to the road. I’m a big fan of the level stance as well.
Unfortunately no, they have only been on for about 24hrs. I can tell you they seriously handled going to the grocery store and swim practiceI am considering changing out the rear Fox Adventure 2.0 rears to something else. Sounds good and funny stuff! Thanks for the laugh!Unfortunately no, they have only been on for about 24hrs. I can tell you they seriously handled going to the grocery store and swim practice. What helped my decision a lot was all of the media Shock Surplus puts out. They run their test rigs pretty hard and the price was what I was looking to spend.
I was very interested in the Eibach set up but they guys at SS said that they would not level the trail boss due to the factory lift.Sounds good and funny stuff! Thanks for the laugh!I will definitely do some research before purchasing.
They were great! I will say, a little slow on shipping but they helped me every step of the way.I have recommended Shock Surplus to a number of threads here....CALL THEM and get set up right.
same for ACCUTUNE....
